What if there were a grass roots movement — based in song — fostering an ethic of sharing and understanding, and open hearted compassion towards the last and least, right here in our country? Second Saturdays … Will you join in the song?
Rest comfortably in the palm of God's own hand. Again, imagine yourself letting go, and letting yourself be gently guided by one who has care for you, who has an infinite and compassionate love for you. Feel your breath, and feel your body relax as you let go of your tensions and you cast your cares away for the moment, and find comfort, shelter and rest.
Everyone is trying to find some refuge from the 'slings and arrows' of the suffering that we all feel from life. We are all running after some things and running away from other things, in an attempt to minimize suffering and be as happy as we can. When we go for refuge in a sangha, we join with a few like-minded others in a sangha, we will have a friendly hands to help pick us back up when we trip and falter along the journey.
Jesus' dharma teachings help us with a way of wisdom and awareness. Jesus offers us koans or riddles to bemuse our thinking minds, so we can be still and awaken to something that's deeper. That's why we seek refuge in Jesus' dharma teachings, questions, parables and koans.
